In this project, we are reimagining the building as a place of beauty and comfort, while adhering to its context as a piece of nature. Our designers have created this building system, which is made up of modular components that can be custom-built on-site. Using sustainable materials, we are creating a building that integrates itself into its immediate surroundings in a way that embraces all that it surrounds it—bringing meaning to both personal and public places. The building is a collaboration of the studio’s principals. The split-level structure features one portion that was built using natural materials and another portion made up entirely of plants—alluding to the building’s local surroundings, which are steeped in history.
